Update for Returning to In Person Service
updated 5/20/20
Dear Square Family,
It is my privilege to announce that we are opening our doors this Sunday, May 24th. In the epistle of James we are reminded that we should conduct our business in a humble state of “if the Lord wills.†So, if the Lord wills, we will reopen our church doors this Sunday.
In order to accomplish this safely, our Elders have prayerfully drafted a plan for us to worship together. This plan reflects our heart to responsibly shepherd God’s people.
Limited Ministry
Social Distancing
Disinfectant
Who Shouldn’t Come?
We welcome everyone back to The Square. However, there are certain cases for which we strongly recommend that you continue to participate through live stream instead of in-person gatherings:
I want to strongly emphasize how important it is that if you are sick, for any reason, please do not attend. This is always true, not just in response to the current pandemic.
Should I Wear a Mask or Gloves to Service?
We are not requiring anyone in attendance to wear masks or gloves. The CDC does recommend that you wear a covering of some kind. We will leave that up to personal discretion. We trust that you know what is best for yourself and your family.
Personal Responsibility
We long to see you again. But you need to make decisions that are right for your family. If you are not comfortable attending in-person gatherings, then take the time you need and know we support you. We understand.
We will continue to provide Live Stream experience. We are still one church, and one body. We are commanded to rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. We want to meet you where you are and continue to minister to you and your family.

Limited Ministry
- No children’s ministry. We encourage parents to keep their children in the service. We are taking measures to incorporate our children into the service. We want them to feel welcomed and included.
- No Lord’s Supper. For the time being, and especially until the whole body can gather (1 Corinthians 11:33).
- No Coffee and Donuts. I know. This one is hard to accept. We will resume these at some point in the future.
Social Distancing
- Fewer chairs in the sanctuary. We arranged fewer chairs with extra space to allow families to group together. The CDC recommends 6 feet between people from different families.
- The CDC strongly recommends against handshakes and hugging.
Disinfectant
- The building will be cleaned and sprayed with disinfectant before weekly services.
- Hand sanitizer will be provided at the entrance of our building and sanctuary, also in each bathroom.
- Bathrooms are equipped with disinfectant for each use.

- Fever
- Respiratory issues (coughing, sore throat, sneezing, etc)
- Loss of taste
- Diarrhea
- If you have tested COVID positive in the last 14 days.
- If you have been in close contact with anyone who is COVID positive in the last 48 hours.
- If you are considered high risk for COVID 19.
I want to strongly emphasize how important it is that if you are sick, for any reason, please do not attend. This is always true, not just in response to the current pandemic.
